Deselva Cacao paste is made from 100% pure and certified organic cacao beans from Chiapas Mexico.
We work with the beans in the traditional Mexican way - woodfire-roasted and stoneground in a molino- in the Far North, Aotearoa. Working with the natural elements and simplicity, the cacao medicine remains pure, true to nature and minimally refined. We work with small baches at a time to ensure the cacao remains fresh.

Origin
In a small town of Chiapas, Mexico, we met a small coop of farmers working together to earn a happy wage and maintain their anscestral lands which are threatened by the ongoing expansion of the nearby city. The farmers introduced us to their rainforests and enormous Ceiba tree from who they recieve their blessings and showed us how they prepare and use their cacao in their daily life. The cacao grows amongst rambutan and mamay in a deliciously abundant rainforest which is tended with love.
Everyday usage
We recommend 20-30g of paste per cup.
In a pot, add your desired amount of paste to hot water and simmer low and slow for 5 mins, whisking until creamy. Add sweetener of choice (we LOVE coconut sugar) and a small pinch of seasalt.Pour into your favorite vessel, take a sweet moment to place an intention and enjoy.
Store in the wax paper included or cut up and put in airtight jar, ready to go!
